Materials for Watercolor
Materials are discussed extensively on the first day of class. Bring something to take notes. Drawing boards, table easels and free standing floor easels are available on a first come, first served basis but, only at specific locations.

1) Pencil, Kneadable Eraser and Ruler2) Ink pen with waterproof black ink
EITHER:3) Sketchbook, spiral or hard-bound, 5x8” size (or smaller or larger if you prefer)

4) Watercolor Paper, 5x7”, 140lb cold press, 2 or more pieces
RECOMMENDATIONS:
- 100% cotton such as Arches, Fabriano
5) Watercolor Kit (Bring what you have. If you don't have anything…)

- Winsor Newton Cotman Pocket Box (best student-grade paints available, nice compact size for travel, inexpensive, a good palette of colors)
- Two watercolor brushes, round size 8, 10, or 12 range
- Small water sprayer (Mini Mister is the smallest)
- 1-2 plastic cups for water (Collapsible silicone cups from REI are nice)
- Paper towels
RECOMMENDATIONS:
- 8x10” clear plexiglass sheet (can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowe's: https://www.lowes.com/pd/OPTIX-0-08-in-x-8-in-x-10-in-Clear-Acrylic-Sheet/3143395).
- Low-tack tape (Dollar Store masking tape, blue painters tape, or artists tape)
- (Optional) If you bring an animal photograph to use in class, it should be 5x7” in size
