Pen & Ink Toolbox for InkTober

Start the InkTober challenge with the Art Verve this October, we'll review the tools and show you some easy steps to get you up and running in no time! InkTober was created by artist Jake Parker, which focuses on improving skills and developing positive drawing habits. Anyone participating creates an ink drawing and it does not have to be a masterpiece, although you may see some on social media this October, with the hashtag #inktober.

Pen & ink is perfect for sketching on the go! You'll find it's medium worth getting to know. It dries quickly and won't smudge however once that mark is made, it will not budge. Switch to a brush and draw like a painter, work through the October/Inktober challenge as if it's a no-brainer. Practice with the guidance you seek, as you learn a whole variety of inking tools amp; techniques. Whether you are a novice or an established inker, you may find out that you're intrigued by InkTober practice hook line and sinker. During this class, you will have access to supplies you need, and by the end, you may even feel as if your InkTober practice will succeed!

Welcome Jill Bauman!

It is an honor to have Jill Bauman join our team of instructors and we're looking forward to her class this fall! Jill moved from New York to Tucson in the fall of 2019 and discovered us through the Art Verve Village. We immediately fell in love with her and asked her if she could teach with us.

Unfortunately, soon after we had to shut down for the entire duration of the pandemic. The anticipated wait for Jill's "Drawing in Colored Pencil" class is over, it begins the first week of September 2021.

Prior to Jill's move into southern Arizona, Jill's been a freelance illustrator and designer for over forty years. During this time, she produced hundreds of covers for horror, mystery, fantasy, science fiction, and bestselling books.
